Life in Cincinnati

Home to Joe Burrow, plenty of chili restaurants, and a world-class zoo, Cincinnati is a great city to live and work in. Cincy, or the “Queen City,” is the third-largest city in Ohio and is located right on the Ohio River. Cincinnati also hosts the Over the Rhine district which is known for the Findlay Market and the area’s 19th century architecture.

Regardless of where you choose to live around the city, there are plenty of things to do for people with diverse interests. Some of our favorite activities in the area include:

  • Cheering on the Reds, Bengals, or FC Cincinnati

  • Picking up food at the Findlay Market

  • Saying hi to the animals at the Cincinnati Zoo

  • Checking out the Cincinnati Botanical Garden

  • Seeing what’s going on at Fountain Square downtown

  • Going for a walk along the Ohio River and exploring Smale Riverfront Park

  • Taking a brewery tour (and grabbing a beer)

  • Playing a round of golf at Blue Ash Golf Course

  • Having a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants

On that last point, if you’re a foodie who is getting to know the city or a native who just wants new places to try, we would definitely recommend any of the following spots:

  • Scotto

  • Maplewood Kitchen and Bar

  • Nicholson’s Fine Food and Whiskey

  • Via Vite

  • The Eagle OTR

  • Pepp & Dolores

  • Spoon & Cellar

Traveling Around Cincinnati Ohio

The Cincinnati Skywalk is the perfect way for pedestrians to get around the city during inclement weather. Downtown also has the Cincinnati Bell Connector that travels from Second Street to Henry Street. It runs 18 hours a day and features 18 stops, including the Duke Energy Convention Center and Fountain Square.

Cincinnati is also fortunate to be one of the cities that has a Greyhound bus station, which allows travelers to go to different cities without worrying about driving themselves. The Greyhound terminal is located downtown and allows travelers to access many locations. Another way to travel is by the Amtrak train, which goes to major cities like Chicago, Indianapolis, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and New York City.

Lastly, the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is just a 15-minute drive from downtown Cincinnati, making it easy for any Cincinnati resident to travel anywhere in the world.
